R Grassfed Beef
Things to Know:
We have USDA certified beef available if you would like to purchase individual units or packages.
We also have amazing beef sticks and summer sausage available. $12 for 1 lb, or 2 for $20.
We are taking deposits on 2025 beef. Please contact us for more information or to reserve your beef for our July and Sept butcher dates.
Our family farm has been raising antibiotic and hormone free, grass fed and finished beef since 2016.
We raise a heritage breed, Irish Dexter, cattle which are smaller sized, hardy, and finish well on grass.
Grass fed beef is known to be heart healthy, full of extra vitamins, and better on our environment.
Due to the size of our cattle, we sell half or whole beef, not quarters. At times, we have packages available for those who want smaller portions.
Pricing is $3.80/lb hanging weight which averages 380 lbs + processing fees at a local locker.
We ask for a deposit of $500/whole or $250/half at the time of reservation.
Then when the carcass is weighed, we will let you know the final weight and the remainder of the payment can be sent at that time. Approximately $950/whole and $475/half, depending on the final weight of the steer.
The carcass is allowed to hang for 2 weeks which allows it to tenderize.
During that time, you will be able to contact the local locker to choose your cuts and payment for processing will be made directly to them at the time you pick up your meat. Depending on your choice of cuts and locker, processing fees will vary.
In summary, the cost of a steer is around $1520 + processing and you would receive around 230 lbs of packaged meat, depending on the size of the steer.
This would include approximately 110 lbs of ground, 55 lbs of steaks, 50 lbs of roasts, 4 lbs of brisket, 8 lbs of ribs, and 8 lbs of soup bones, depending on your processing choices.
The average cost with processing runs around $8.00/lb for all your beef.
